World Heart Day2026

As every year, the National Heart Foundation of Bangladesh marked World Heart Day with a rally, a public seminar, free heart camps, and posters and leaflets, in Dhaka and beyond, to raise awareness of the causes and risks of heart disease.

Theme: Don't Miss a Beat: প্রতিটি হৃদ্‌স্পন্দনই জীবন (Every heartbeat is life)

The programme

The World Heart Federation's campaign continues with “Heart disease can hide in plain sight: Don't miss a beat”. The National Heart Foundation of Bangladesh carried it in Bangla as “প্রতিটি হৃদ্‌স্পন্দনই জীবন”.

  • Rally, 29 September

    A colourful rally set off at 6:30 in the morning from the south plaza of Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium and marched to the National Heart Foundation Hospital & Research Institute in Mirpur-2, led by a brass band and a horse-drawn carriage carrying the campaign banner.

  • Public seminar, 30 September

    A public seminar at 9:00 in the 11th-floor auditorium of the Institute, with Sardar Md. Sakhawat Hossain, Minister of Health and Family Welfare, as chief guest and Prof. Dr. Nazmul Hossain, Director General of the Directorate General of Health Education, as special guest.

  • Free heart camps

    Free heart camps at Mirpur-2 on 29 and 30 September, from 8:00 to 13:00, and at Darus Salam on 29 September.

  • Across Bangladesh

    Rallies, public and scientific seminars, and poster and leaflet campaigns in Dhaka and outside Dhaka.
