About

Dr. Zarrin Tasnim, MBBS, MPH (Epidemiology), is a public health professional serving as a program officer in the Department of Epidemiology and Research at the National Heart Foundation Hospital & Research Institute, Bangladesh. She earned her MBBS from Sir Salimullah Medical College & Mitford Hospital and completed her Master of Public Health (MPH) in Epidemiology at the National Institute of Preventive and Social Medicine (NIPSOM).

Dr. Tasnim is currently involved in nutrition-related public health projects, with a growing focus on nutrition and non-communicable disease (NCD) prevention. Prior to joining the National Heart Foundation, she was involved in communicable disease programs and public health laboratory-related activities, including work under Jhpiego’s Enhancing Global Health Security initiatives. Through this work, she gained experience in collaborative public health activities involving Johns Hopkins University, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Bangladesh. She has also contributed to HIV-related public health programs supported by the Global Fund, with involvement in program implementation, coordination, and service delivery.

Her professional interests include epidemiology, public health research, epidemiological surveillance, nutrition policy, program implementation, and evidence-based approaches to disease prevention and population health.
