Dr. Aruna Sarker, MBBS, MPH (Epidemiology), is a public health physician serving as the Program Coordinator of the Tobacco Control Program at the Department of Epidemiology and Research, National Heart Foundation Hospital & Research Institute, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Her professional responsibilities encompass epidemiological research, tobacco control advocacy, and public health program coordination, with a particular focus on non-communicable disease (NCD) prevention and strengthening evidence-based tobacco control policies.
She has contributed to several research initiatives addressing cardiovascular health and its associated risk factors. Her research experience includes studies on dyskalemia among hypertensive patients and sleep-related health problems among Bangladeshi adults. She has practical experience in research design, data collection, and statistical analysis, using software including SPSS, R, and NVivo for quantitative and qualitative research. She contributes to research proposal development, stakeholder engagement, advocacy initiatives, and the organization of scientific and public health events.
