Dr. Mohd Abdullah Al Mamun, MBBS, MPH, PGD (Development Planning), cGTC (Johns Hopkins University, USA) is an Associate Professor and Senior Consultant in Epidemiology & Research at the National Heart Foundation Hospital & Research Institute (NHFH&RI), Dhaka. His responsibilities encompass research coordination, development of research proposals, data analysis and statistical support, teaching and training, organization of scientific activities, and collaboration with national and international organizations. He also serves as Managing Editor of the Journal of National Heart Foundation of Bangladesh and Joint Member Secretary of the Institute’s Ethics Review Committee.
He holds an MBBS from Mymensingh Medical College, University of Dhaka and an MPH in Nutrition from NIPSOM, University of Dhaka, complemented by postgraduate and professional training in medicine, cardiology, diabetology, global tobacco control, development planning, noncommunicable disease (NCD) prevention, research ethics, and biostatistics.
His professional career spans clinical medicine, cardiology, epidemiology, public health research, and NCD prevention, with experience in hypertension, cardiovascular disease, tobacco control, dietary salt reduction, diabetes, and NCD service delivery.
Dr. Abdullah has an extensive research portfolio, with more than 120 publications, including studies published in Global Heart, BMJ Public Health, Heart, BMJ Open, PLOS ONE, Public Health Practice, European Heart Journal Supplements, and other national and international journals. His research experience includes serving as Principal Investigator and Associate Investigator on projects supported by BMRC, the NCDC Program of DGHS, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and other organizations.
