Biography
I am a Surveillance Medical Officer (SMO) at the National Heart Foundation Hospital & Research Institute. Currently, I serve within the Bangladesh Hypertension Control Initiative, a key government-partnered program under the DGHS. Managing the Rajshahi Zone, I oversee the implementation of standardized treatment protocols, NCD service delivery, monitor data integrity, and lead quality improvement (QI) advocacy to bridge the gap between clinical research and community-level healthcare implementation. My academic focus lies at the intersection of occupational health and environmental sustainability. My research portfolio includes a study on the mental well-being of factory workers in a green factory, alongside investigations into heat-related illnesses among construction workers and the quality of life of solid waste pickers. These works directly address the health impacts of climate change and industrial shifts on vulnerable populations. I have also investigated mental health among rural women and the nutritional status of adolescents under tuberculosis treatment. By leveraging my experience within the National Heart Foundation’s framework, I aim to develop evidence-based strategies for non-communicable diseases and mental health. I am dedicated to advancing public health policies that prioritize a "Green Economy" while ensuring the holistic well-being of the workforce in Bangladesh.
